Explore Western Canada's largest collection of heritage locomotives and railcars. The West Railway Heritage Park experience starts with free parking, washrooms, ticketing/guest service and a Gift Shop. Your self-guided tour will take you back in time through vintage railcars dating to 1890, building from the early 20th century and artifacts exhibits but also steam and diesel locomotives from the mid-century era. In addition to our outdoor experiences, the newly build 21000sq-ft Roundhouse can provide opportunities for events, conferences and is the home of one of BC best heritage steam locomotive the 2860 ROYAL HUDSON. Also available is our most popular attraction: the MINI RAIL. Take a 20 mins ride on our 3 km long tracks around the site, the whole family will love it!! The Heritage Park is the perfect place to wonder around beautiful restored heritage pieces for individuals, family and groups of all sizes and ages

If you want a real sense of the power of locomotive travel you need only come here and witness the sheer size of the machinery that opened up our country. As the work progresses and more and more items restored it is awesome. Those items like the working Royal Hudson that sit in the round house will blow you away.... More

This amazing collection is also a working railway, featuring operative steam and diesel locomotives from the first half of the 20th century. There are also passenger coaches and freight cars in various states of restoration, including the gorgeous parlour car "British Columbia," built in 1890 and still in running condition. Ever wonder what was inside a caboose? Find put for... More

I was a little skeptical at first but this park was a great time and fun for all. Got really hands on with the different cabins and engines. A must see for train enthusiasts. Be warned though a lot of the park is outdoors so you should go on a dry day.

If you grew up playing with electric trains you'll ove the West Coast Railway Museum. The Association brags that they have over 90 items of railway cars and artifacts upon a foot print of 12 acres. Also on display is the Royal Hudson steam train ( I recall riding on the Royal Hudson on a daily excursion run from North... More

There was a lot more to see than we expected. In addition to the Train Locomotives and cars that have been restored, there were a great number of other that have not been restored and other that are going to be restored. The Royal Hudson locomotive is a work of art and is a must see. The amazing restoration on... More

This is a great place to visit with families if you have time in Squamish. See the real equipment up close and get to climb through some of the cars and engines. Garden scale railway is available for rides and then go inside and see the stately Royal Husdon 2860 now fundraising for repairs. All in all a good place... More

The Museum of trains was very interesting to see. There were lots of Engines and Trains to see. You could board most of the carriages and engines. They even have the old Station with the sitting room. In the main room they do lots of functions such as weddings. If you like trains then you must see.

We went to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. Its a very nice railroad park dedicated to preserving Canadian Railroad History. We liked touring the different cars. Inside several of the rail cars there are exhibits such as sleeping cars, Railroad Hall of Fame, a car that was used for mail delivery, and so forth. We also liked seeing the... More
