The church is a modern architectural splendor, but we visit the Abbey only to walk the grounds. A cinder path leads to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Fraser River and Sumas Mountain, and offering a great view of Mount Baker on clear days. A winding trail through the forest to the west of the Abbey is a calming experience. Photo... More

Mum and I decided to go on a walk-around and a look-see at the Abby. The doors were open and we invited ourselves into a massive hall that was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. I had wished we could have run into a 'Brother' to show us around or give us some kind of history of the... More

I love walking up to the Westminster Abbey anytime of year. There are trails that run between Heritage Park and the back of the Abbey, and I love the treat of ending a hike with a beautiful view overlooking theFraser River. The flower gardens are gorgeous, too.

Our sunny Saturday drive led us to the beauty of this amazing history. We could hear the bells ringing from miles away and followed to see where it would lead. This treasure was well worth the drive.
