Kicking Horse has attracted rave reviews after just seven seasons for its awesome vertical, deep powder and spectacular terrain mix. With an express gondola accessing over 4100 ft (1260m) of vertical, you’re bound to ski and ride an impressive feat of terrain comparable to only that of heli-skiing. Coupled with summer activities such as mountain biking, wildlife education, and alpine sightseeing, this is a place where the stories are almost too tall to believe.

Me and my partner went up on the gondola (not cheap but worth doing) and did the two 'Terminator' hikes which are marked as the most difficult hikes in the resort. We are by no means hardcore hikers although we enjoy hiking and found them...More

We mainly came to Kicking Horse to ride the gondola to see the view. The ride was pricey, but everyone was friendly & helpful, and the view really was spectacular. I was hoping for some "easy" trails on top, but it seems to be mainly...More

Thank you to Kicking Horse Resort for creating this Ferrata and to our guide Richard. He was great! We really appreciated his skill, his experience with SAR, and the stone steps he helped construct. A gorgeous day with 360 panoramic views looking into 5 Nat'l...More

Kicking Horse is quite appealing in summer, simple but nice. But the star attraction is Boo the Grizzly bear. A reasonably price ticket gets you on a chairlift to his fenced habitat, and ability to join a regular talk at the perimeter. Beyond that, it's...More

Rode up the mountain on a chairlift to see the resident grizzly. Enjoyed the talk that was given by the guide. Also enjoyed watching the mountain bike riders riding down the mountain.

If you are anytime passing thru Golden BC on the TransCanada Highway, stop over and take the time to go to the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort---a pleasant 13 kilo trip on paved road, and then a resort worth remembering. The only draw-back: it closes mid...More

We only had a morning to visit but this was lovely. We took the gondola to the top and had lunch in the Eagles Nest. The view was wonderful, the service was good and we enjoyed the food. It was all lovely!

On a hazy, smoke-filled day, we decided to take a gondola ride up the mountain at KHMR, not expecting to see much, let alone a grizzly bear in its natural habitat. So we didn't see the bear the 4 times we passed over his territory...More

Head up the ski lift to visit Boo. Well worth it if you have not seen any in your travels. The rangers have a few good stories to tell and highly educational for international visitors

I agree. I don't know how busy it will be but as you know your plans it's better to get it booked in. We had to make a reservation and the mountain itself wasn't that busy when we went.
