Entry by donation. Small display. Friendly workers. Not an elaborate display. Unfortunately not the historical type of museum we were looking for.

The price is based on your desire to make a donation. Interesting summary of many items. Upstairs, there is a wonderful video on Boldt Castle and how it had come into creation, fallen into massive disrepair and current status of renovation. For us, it was wonderful and saved us from having to take a 5 hour boat tour to get... More

The museum is located right by the river in Gananoque. We went there not knowing anything about the museum and not really expecting much. My husband and I were both pleasantly surprised with what we found there. My personal favorite was the wheelhouse in the building's tower which allows visitors to simulate piloting a boat down the St. Lawrence River.... More

You can wander at your own pace, see old uniforms, see reconstructions of the long houses of the original people, birds and animals, as well as maps and photos. Don't miss the beautiful Victorian miniature house. Take the time to see the movie about Bolt Castle.

We stopped here to beat the heat and were pleasantly surprised with the displays. Gave a good history of the town and a "movie" of Boldt Castle (that we watched before going there)

A must see place. The gift shop is good, the main displays are good, the Boldt Castle movie is great, and the new clothing history show is also well done.

I was excited to see this house because it looked stunning from the outside and we happened upon it when we were in line for the Gananoque boat tours. Admittedly we did no research on it and it was a fluke find so we went in. Admission by donation. I was expecting a furnished home but instead its more of... More
