There is no better way to experience the spectacular sites and atmosphere of Lunenburg's historic streetscapes and working waterfront than on foot. Lunenburg Walking Tours was created to offer visitors to our UNESCO World Heritage Site town - one of only two such urban sites in North America - an educational and entertaining directed walk through history. Co-Owners Shelah Allen and Ashlee Feener, both descendants from original founding families, bring authenticity, accuracy, and levity, all woven into great stories, to your outing. Tours are at a gentle pace, vary in length depending on the tour, go rain or shine, and require a reservation by phone/text or email.

From Halifax we rode on the tour bus to this quaint village with lots of history. Founded in 1753, it is one of the most picturesque towns in Canada. We walked around the town and harbor where we saw the famous Bluenose II. Nice day!

The size of Lunenberg belies its very interesting history. We enjoyed the personal stories from our guide Sheila. She took us into locked churches that we never would have seen on our own. She held our interest and the two hours went by quickly.

Why would you visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site and not take a tour to learn about the town? What attracted me to this tour is it is only 1-1.5 hrs long - the perfect length! I also had the honour of having the company...More

Huge thanks to our tour guide, Ralph, for a fabulous walking tour. We ended up being the only people on the tour that morning so we got a private tour! Ralph was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all questions we had and even went above and...More

Just returned from a road trip to Nova Scotia and stayed in Lunenburg for one night. We took the walking tour with Ashlee and she was very informative and pleasant. It's really the only way to understand the history and building of Lunenburg

Absolutely a must do while in Lunenburg. It's a beautiful town to just walk around in but when you do the tour and learn of its history it is so fascinating. I have enjoyed the tour lead by Sheila and then again by Ralph. Both...More

The historic section of this overly quaint town is like walking through a history book. I walked it in the pouring rain and it was still a gem. Visit the fishers museum and the magnificant Nluenose 2.

A haunted tour was just the adventure we needed to complete a perfect stay in this charming seaside town. In the damp darkness of night our guide met us to reveal some astonishing historical facts and interesting superstitions as we wound our walk around the...More
