Kho Chong Kra Chok was given the nickname "Monkey Mountain", and that's no lie. If you're looking for culture or religion, you should avoid this place. You'll encounter 3 things: (1) a partially destroyed temple (destroyed by the monkeys). (2) a view on the Gulf...More

We did the climb around 6 pm. There were nobody, just us and way too many monkeys. I like monkeys but monkeys here can be quite intimidating. We had no food so they did not try to snatch anything from us. Some just sit on...More

Good Place for Viewing the entire area of Prachuap Bay. However, monkeys in the area are quite wild and not friendly. They may come after your personal belongings, so pay attention to them when be there.

Excellent views once you get to the top but my advice to anyone who is going to do this is to do it early in the morning or just before sunset as I did this at midday never again I was absolutely soaking in sweat...More

Well worth the steps. The 360 degree views are stunning. If you don't take food the monkeys will not bother you.

On our first morning in Prachuap Kirikhan we decided to visit the hilltop temple of Khao Chong Krachok at the northern end of the town centre. The municipal park, boarding streets and the hillside itself is also home to what seems like hundreds of monkeys....More

We had some trouble initially figuring out where the entrance to the temple is if you're driving yourself. I think we ended up parking in a nearby parking lot sort of across the road. As soon as you get out, you will be accosted by...More

You don't have to be fit to climb the stairs - takes 10minutes (if not less), to reach the top. The monkeys can be quite aggressive - I held my 3 year old on my hip the whole way up just in case. Best tip...More
