Excellent views once you get to the top but my advice to anyone who is going to do this is to do it early in the morning or just before sunset as I did this at midday never again I was absolutely soaking in sweat and I like to think I'm reasonably fit.don't feed the monkey's and if you can... This is a really beautiful place with lovely views and nice sounding temple bell. It is hard to enjoy the beauty though as the macaques can be quite aggressive and try to snatch cameras etc. We visited on dawn and they certainly were very active, trying even to take my sandals from my feet when walking. We carried a large... More

Well worth the steps. The 360 degree views are stunning. If you don't take food the monkeys will not bother you.

This sight is known locally as Monkey Mountain, which is a very fitting name! We arrived at the base of the small mountain at 6am in the hopes of watching the sunrise. We were immediately please to see a lot of monkeys on the road and running around. We began the trip up the 396 steps. There are a couple... More

On our first morning in Prachuap Kirikhan we decided to visit the hilltop temple of Khao Chong Krachok at the northern end of the town centre. The municipal park, boarding streets and the hillside itself is also home to what seems like hundreds of monkeys. When we arrived the monkeys were happily wandering, playing in their family groups or just... More

We had some trouble initially figuring out where the entrance to the temple is if you're driving yourself. I think we ended up parking in a nearby parking lot sort of across the road. As soon as you get out, you will be accosted by people trying to sell you food to give to the monkeys. No thanks, I don't... More

You don't have to be fit to climb the stairs - takes 10minutes (if not less), to reach the top. The monkeys can be quite aggressive - I held my 3 year old on my hip the whole way up just in case. Best tip we were given was to carry our back on our front and not our back... More

Have been a few times now, nice slow walk to the top and a good panoramic view. Only negative is the very aggressive monkeys, they need to have the bigger males relocated. My nephew was in tears halfway up as a few of the males were getting angry. They will snatch anything you are carrying, even water bottles that they... More

I really enjoyed my visit here. The small chedi on top of the hill is housing precious relics of Buddha and makes this place worth of visit. Another thing for which this temple is famous in particular are hords of monkeys. Get ready for that bc they will be around you all the time. I strongly recomend to read some... More

We spend wonderful time when we were up to stairs. Please be careful, monkeys can steal something from you ;)
