The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

We stopped at Cameron Lake when we took a drive through Waterton Park. My boys played in the water while we sat on the beach. We rented a couple of kayaks and took them out on this lake for an hour. It was incredible. Such amazing scenery everywhere. We loved this lake in Waterton!

Skiing or snowshoeing in to the lake is the way to go. PAssing along the way the oldest ACC cabin in the system (given to the ACC by PArks Canada). The skiing is novice level with no issues route finding or trail negotiations (more of a pleasant outing) with dramatic views once at the lake. Be mindful of avalanche reports... More

The road was closed so we had to walk a few kilometres to get to lake Cameron. I was hesitant if it was worth it but boy was it ever. The lake was still frozen and it was picturesque. Would love to go back and hike around the lake or see it in the summer Definitely check it out

The public access road, Akamina Parkway, to Cameron Lake was closed by Parks Canada for construction during the last major long weekend of the season. The only access to this destination was via private tour bus. I assume there was a cost associated with this private service on a public road? I'm not impressed, and had many question which Park's... After a thirty minute pleasant drive in the rain we arrived at Cameron Lake just as the sun came out ☀ People immediately went in the water, which was very warm. We even were lucky enough to witness a marriage proposal made (and accepted) out on the lake in a canoe ♥ In the distance there was snow visible on... More

We all had a great time at Cameron lake. The water is warm and clean. The picnic grounds are very clean. I will be heading back there again.

We took a ride on a boat down the lake and the scenery is out of this world. Very beautiful scenery.

Don't know if other reviews have mentioned this but the lake area is closed this summer due to renovation. The road up to the lake is closed starting in town. There are shuttles from town to various hiking trails but you need reservations to get on. The shuttles leave from the Tamarack Outfitters store.
