The ruggedness of the rock is a real contrast to the gentle countryside of Madiera. We enjoyed just sitting watching the waves crash against the rocks.

The Seixal Natural Swimming Pools or Piscinas Naturais do Seixal, located near black sand Laje beach, in Madeira’s northern coast. Beautiful landscape and clear ocean water. These pools of volcanic origin are great examples of the magnificence of nature on the island of Madeira. Free...More

Pools were very unusuals and dynamic with water movement. Unusual plants covering some cliffs. Excellent photo spot. Access paths had a look of crude 60s concreting. Which matched the sea front 60s chunky architecture. But still well worth a visit for the pools.

These pools are some of the loveliest that we've seen since being in Madeira. Seixal itself it a small, unspoilt madeiran village with no tourist shops etc. But these pools at the base of the cliffs are stunning. The first being a bay like scene...More

We sat in the bar over looking the pool. Full of fish so would be amazing for snorkelling. Desperate to go in but wasn't sure if you were allowed until we walked round and saw the shower at the stepped entrance. Extremely calm water fed...More

Free - no cost. It's a large area of coast with different natural pools in different parts of Seixal.
