Spent a couple of very enjoyable hours on the SS Great Britain. The tour is in three parts, firstly in the glass covered dry dock, then through the museum before boarding the ship itself. There is a wealth of history to get hold of - maritime, engineering, social - and I could happily have spent the afternoon poking around, though... More

My grandchildren always enjoy visiting the ship ,swabbing the decks, looking for the cats dressing up and steering! We can tell them about what was happening in the world when it was sailing, and the sort of lives people had.

Fantastic and informative step back in time ,see how hard life was for the crew how they slept and socialised ,put yourselves in the shoes of the officers and captain ,and see how passengers travelled to distant lands ,and see the innovative engines and specialy designed propellors ,,amust for your young crew !!

This is great not only for the ship but the surroundings and location. Bristol is a magic City and you can do the SS. Great Britain, walk along the docks to 'M; Shed museum and much more.

Visited in October with the wife. Being a Bristolian I last visited when I was a youngster with school. First return visit in 30 or so yrs and what a transformation. For the wife it was her first visit as she was originally from Manchester. Lots of things to look at, hands on displays, rigging to climb, decks to scrub,... More

I have to say that i really enjoyed walking around this amazing ship and to spend time on it on it as well. It's the most impressive thing to see if you're visiting Bristol. Pleasant cafe and gift shop complete the ensemble.

Have been here several times due to the kids wanting to revisit - on the plus side the ticket is valid for one year from purchase so you only pay the once in 12 months. Keeps the little ones occupied for a good couple of hours.

A short walk from central Bristol is the SS Great Britain. There's so much to learn and so much to see from under the ship, around the ship's different rooms and floors, and on top deck. It's the most impressive thing to see if you're visiting Bristol.

A great bringing-to-life of this engineering marvel that was rescued from rust in 1970. The dry dock is a marvel with its "false harbour" above and the ship is well laid out with recorded sounds and voices. Watch out for the occupied lavatory! Pleasant cafe and gift shop complete the ensemble.
