Visited today - excellent museum and very helpful and friendly tourist information staff. Well worth a visit. However, we then experienced the Escape Room......this was fantastic! A great experience, we all thoroughly enjoyed the event. Matt our guide was just brilliant, and made the afternoon! If you want something different for the family or friends, or you need a team-building... More

This is part of the information centre in Ely. You are given an audio guide which gives you information about Oliver Cromwell , his family and career as you go from room to room. There is also a film which you view about the house and the famous man. Good for children too as they can dress up and play... More

Wow. I went with 7 friends (including 2 teenagers) to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted by our host in costume. After brief instructions were left to find and solve the clues so we could escape. The range of puzzles was varied and challenged us! It was great fun and I highly recommend it!!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your Escape Room experience. Since we launched our pop-up sessions in September, we have been overwhelmed with the take-up and the positive reviews. More

Living near to Ely we decided to take time out to visit Oliver Cromwell's House and really did find it a worthwhile experience. Watching the video first is well worth the effort as it makes self guided tour much easier. We would certainly suggest a visit to Ely Cathedral as this is just across the green. There is also a... We visited here for just over an hour when we were on a few day break in Ely. It is worth taking the time to watch the video before starting on the audio self guided tour, which has lots of different levels to it, should you have more time.

I am not familiar with much of the history surrounding Oliver Cromwell so was excited to go round. Handsets are given at the door which meant not having to read signs and displays although there were many. You could choose which parts you wanted to listen to or just walk through. Some doors are low and rooms are dark. There... More

A very interesting and well presented piece of history. We went on a day when there were stalls selling crafts which made an added interest. An assed bonus was a walk round Ely Cathedral which is magnificent

Thank you for your review. You must have visited us when we had our Lord Protector's Historical Fayre. It was the first time that we had turned the House over to a re-enactor's market and we were really pleased with the feedback. It was lovely to see the House used in this way. More

Cromwell's house is entered via the Tourist Information shop which forms its front room. There are lots of informational posters, audio guide and leaflets which all provide excellent information throughout. You visit about seven rooms upstairs and downstairs. There are interesting artefacts from the civil war period.
