I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Ted's home. I often go to London to visit galleries and was thrilled to be able to enjoy a tour of excellent work and fascinating tour with detailed explanations of each piece of work - right on my own doorstep. The best part of a gallery visit, for me, is having an insight into... More

Ely on a rainy day is still worth a visit - as is Ted Coney's very personal trip down Memory Lane. Not simply a gathering of 'faces from the past', [although there are some] but with fascinating representation of times gone by - both happy, sad, even painful times. It was an enormous pleasure to spend time with the Artist,... More

We came across this attraction when researching what do to in Ely for a weekend and were directed to watch the virtual tour. This short video gave us a sneak peak into the world of Ted Coney's family portraits. What a fascinating world it is. This video made up our minds and we booked that evening for a tour (make... Ted is a wonderful, charismatic man who is passionate about what he does. The gallery is in his house which makes the experience very personal. His work is all about his family and provides a thought provoking and emotionally rewarding experience. I recommend a visit.

I watched the virtual tour a few months ago and was inspired to go on the actual tour. The video just made me want to find out more about this unusual house in the middle of Ely. Truly inspiring and enlightening. Ted has a great way of explaining things in an interesting and engaging manner. You'll learn a lot about... More

Over the summer I have toured Ted's family portraits 4 times. Each time I am astonished by the quality of the artwork and the variety of unusual ways he uses to express the multifaceted family experiences. He uses layers of fragments, and symbols which come together to form a picture that initially seems straighforward but draws you in to look closer... Having read the reviews here, I booked my wife and I on a weekday - Ted doesn't always do this, but agreed readily. I was half expecting to be disappointed - it seems almost too good to be true - but we were both blown away. The art is interesting enough to look at, but that experience pales compared to... More

If you're visiting Ely, Ted's exhibition is a must. Ted guides you round his home which is a captivating treasure trove of artwork. We even saw the painting he was working on and heard about his painting methods. Ted is so inspiring, enthusiastic and welcoming. I really recommend a visit.
