City's 'secret' cinema

This cinema is very useful, as it is close to home. Even though it isn't always the latest film. Much better than paying for over priced tickets at the big cinemas.

This is a great little cinema that shows a lot of artistic films. It is situated beside the river with it's many boats. There is also many lovely exhibitions in the 'Babylon Art Gallery'! Not forgetting the Antique shop which has 3 floors if memory serves me well.

Oh this means the Maltings. I remember 3 cinemas in Ely. The was the Rex, one on the market square and another they used to refer to as the fleapit and needless to say it was. Why do other cities have real cinemas whereas Ely has a temporary one which is housed in the Maltings ?

This is in the Maltings. You can buy a drink and take it in, and the tickets are very reasonable. Somehow it has the feel of an old fashioned cinema about it and not one of the mega chains.

The cimema is in the Maltings in a room that is used for other functions. The seats are on various levels and i think they must be pulled out as a unit as they areput away for other functions. They are close together and cramped, i find it difficult to sit in comfort through a whole film sadly. The cinema... More

You need to know what you are going to see, as many weeks are Children's films. They are old films, compared to most cinemas and not very full. However we choose one we wanted to see and found it much bigger and better than we expected.
