What more is there to say, other than this is always a perfect day out! Recommend booking online if you're on a budget, as you can get some good savings. Nevertheless, it's a charity, so I have no qualms about paying full price. Great all day, so much to do, so close to Chester City Centre.

We visited the zoo for our sons 3rd birthday. It was absolutely fantastic ! We were there for 4 hours and still didn't see everything. Some stalls and eateries were closed on the way round as it was out of season. I would recommend taking a pack up then you can eat whenever you feel hungry. As the zoo is... More

I love Chester zoo. It's a really nice day out, and there is loads of interesting animals and great viewing bits. Now, the food. I'm sorry but the food was absolutely awful. If someone opened up a decent food place in Chester zoo it'd make a fortune! That's all that's stopping full marks!

The lantern parade is a delightful evening pre-Christmas experience for both adults and children. A marvellous mix of lanterns, animated models and puppetry. A really well organised event. Having timed ticketed slots meant it was not overcrowded and you could see everything easily within the allotted time. Would recommend to both adults and children

Went in freezing temps, some of the animals stayed in bed! Got better as the sun came out, walked for miles so it's good for getting the fresh air and see the animals which all look so healthy by the way, well looked after by the staff.

Always enjoy a trip to the Chester zoo..particularly like the indoor bat room, frightens the wife haha...always recommend taking your own food though, as the cafés is expensive and unappealing...

Absolutely magical, will be trying to go every year as a tradition now. Everyone was just lovely. From the stars to Santa and the friendly animals. Kids get to carry a lantern as well as mini lanterns for the little ones. We ordered food in advance but no need to do so. Food was great (had expected it to be... More
