I am compelled to share our experience visiting the zoo today.

Having not been since 2019 we were excited to return and to celebrate my partner's birthday today.

On a dreary rainy November day we were happy to have a relaxed walk around and just see what we could see.... This would soon change.

We normally go to as many talks as possible and were excited by the Ranger tour at 11am. We arrived a few minutes early to the talk and were met by Rhian and Emma, apologies if either of these spellings are incorrect.

Well..... From this moment on we were treated like royalty and VIP guests. An insightful tour of the tropical building ensued followed by a walk around some of the outdoor enclosures where we were given vast amounts of fascinating information about many of the animals at Newquay Zoo.

I cannot put in to words how knowledgeable, friendly and professional Rhian and Emma were. This felt like an experience we should have paid many hundreds of pounds for. Rhian and Emma are an asset to the company, they were so enthusiastic to share their knowledge with us that we are both currently giddy with how great a day it was. Throughout the day we went to further talks with both Rhian and Emma and had time to talk in depth about numerous topics regarding zoology.

The day was an absolute joy, the food was delicious in the Lemur cafe and everywhere we went we were welcomed by all.

We look forward to returning very very soon.

Great small zoo but with more than I would have expected to see there.
Was nice to walk around and enjoy the animals in a peaceful location even though it is the center of Newquay nearly. Cafe was good service and a nice place to sit out of the showers and rest before heading back out to see the animals

Fab day out. Staff very helpful and assisted us hiring an electric scooter for my mother at a reasonable cost which meant we could go around the zoo twice to see most of the animals.

Had a pasty in the cafe at lunchtime tasty and reasonable. Shop well priced and site very tidy

Visited with my boyfriend for his birthday for a bit of nostalgia as we both visited as children and were pleasantly surprised. We visited on a school day during school times so it was nice and quiet. Lots of animals to see

Excellent small zoo with an interesting range of animals. Animals seem to have good sized enclosures with hiding space and enrichment. Only enclosure that didn’t seem quite adequate was that for the lions which seemed slightly too small, though the animals weren’t stressed at all.

Stayed for about five hours. Could happily have spent most of that watching the slender loris!

Newquay Zoo is well worth a visit. Its clean, well organised and the animals seem to be well cared for. Its not a huge zoo but plenty of things to see and would easily take 2 hours to have a look around. While we didn't partake the pasties in a cafe in the zoo smelt fantastic, gift shop was very nice and not overpriced. The lion enclosure was good and you could get really quite close to them. Staff were very friendly. Toilets very clean. No complaints at all. The zoo opens at 10AM and we were there about 9.30, parking is nearby and for Newquay wasn't all that limited.

Having visited another attraction in Newquay which was so disappointing I was very worried about going to Newquay Zoo, I should not have worried it is absolutely fantastic so much to see staff friendly lovely café at sensible prices, put 4 hour's on car park should have put more, so many animals to see what a place for a family to chill out thanks we will be back👍👍👍

Visited last week whilst we were on holiday in the area. Didn't get off to a great start when we saw yoy had to pay for the carpark. Believe it was £6.50 for 4 hours. We've been to a few before where you pay a couple of quid, but this just seemed way too much.
The actual zoo itself is just fine. The enclosures seem small for some animals, especially the lions, who we thought had a tiny pen for 3 big cats. A lot of the enclosures were empty and overgrown, making it impossible to spot a lot of animals. The only reason we visited was to see the red pandas, my personal favourite, and admit the trip was worth it for them. However, there's a tunnel right next to their enclosure which was completely empty. Just boxed up windows, which looked a bit grubby. There were some talks throughout the day which were great, we were able to catch the penguin and lion shows.
Can tell the staff have a lot of love for the zoo though, the lady who was doing the talks had a lot of passion and seemed genuinely happy. We also spotted another zookeeper doing a "zookeeper for the day" tour with some people, he was great to listen to.
Overall, it took around 2.5 hours for us to walk round twice, with stopping for 15 minutes for a coffee. I think with the cost of the tickets and parking, I wouldn't return or recommend. Its a small zoo and the value for money isn't there, especially if you're a large family.

This was okay.
We was looking forward to the penguin feeding but it was cancelled due to cleaning ofnthe pool which was disappointing.
This place is missing a little extra like a indoor soft play once 6ou get to the end of the zoo.

Clean zoo however.
Not very big so only spent around 2 hours here with my 2 children. So all in all works out expensive day for 2 hours.
