This is a relatively small National Trust garden. The house is not open to the public. That having been said the gardens are semi-tropical and still partially flowering in October. They must be extremely pretty and colourful in spring. We enjoyed the walk and the surroundings. It was very relaxing, peaceful and tranquil on the Sunday afternoon that we visited. The terrace at the furthest point of the gardens affords an amazing view down to Newlyn and across the bay to the Mullion side. You only need about an hour or so here to include the walk, the walled garden and a quick coffee in the café. It was a very good time-filler for us after 3 hours on the coast path and before getting ready for an evening meal.

We visited here with our young children back in March last year. We were lucky that there were lots of magnolias and camelias in flower. We also enjoyed the tree ferns and the plants in the walled garden. We stayed for most of the day and had lovely cakes in the cafe. We'll be back to see it at a different time of year.

It is still one of my favourite places to explore, I always manage to find a little pocket of the Garden I've not explored before. Absolutely divine lunch in the cafe on site, too. Secondhand book shop. A few different toilet blocks. Visited with my parents plenty of seating dotted around.

Easily my favourite NT place so far. I visited on a very hot March day and found it to be fairly quiet and incredibly peaceful, it was amazing to see so many beautiful plants and explore the different paths. The lady in the shop who scanned my card kindly gave me a map and talked me through each section of the gardens, she was very helpful! I will definitely be returning at different times of the year to see what else is in bloom!

Very pleasant garden where the azaleas, camelias and magnolias are magnificent in late April, and as always you'll enjoy it more on a sunny day! Awkward to reach by public transport (the Penzance to St Just bus passes by but the service is infrequent), so we took a taxi from our base in Newlyn (c.£11). Good wide level paths suitable for wheelchair and rollator access, and if heading for the Terrace I would advise disabled users to go up the main driveway (which is surfaced) and then [if desired] return via the parallel track through the woods (which is unsurfaced but very gently downhill). Very friendly staff / volunteers manning the fort in reception.

Trengwainton is a beautiful, peaceful tropical delight with views down to the bay. It was very quiet when we visited which made it all the more romantic. Lots of beautiful colourful specimens to inspire you - lost count of the tree ferns - we really loved it. Of all the Cornish gardens you can visit, this is probably our second favourite after Trebah - absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a trip.

Trengwainton is a heavenly garden experience. Carefully constructed paths winding their way through magnolia trees and ferns led us gently on our amble. There were moments of contemplation on the many benches and moments of reflection by the beautiful stream. Colourful primrose planting painted a picture of beauty. Relaxing, inspiring and rewarding at every turn.

Lovely couple of visits to Trengwainton Gardens. Enjoyed the guided walk with NT volunteer and enjoyed meeting nice group of people on the walk. Lunch as usual was tasty and good value for money.

This is a really nice estate, the gardens are beautiful especially when the sun is out. We never went into the estate, just the gardens. The price was affordable.and we had a lovely cream tea. There is a lovely gift shop with a wide range of souvenirs. You can even purchase some plants.
