Tate St Ives will be closed until Friday 31st March 2017. The refurbishment of the existing Tate St Ives building has proved more complex than anticipated. After careful consideration we have decided to continue the building work through the year and we will reopen the refurbished Tate St Ives in March 2017. We will continue work on the new galleries and building over the summer 2017. The fully completed new Tate St Ives, encompassing the existing building and the extension, will open in autumn 2017. The planned exhibition season for summer 2016, The Studio and The Sea will open to the public on Friday 31 March 2017.

On reading the reviews for the Tate St Ives, I wondered if I should bother going at all. But I'm glad I did. Being a fledging potter myself I was very interested in the display of Bernard Leach pottery in the first gallery. I can...More

I was very excited to visit the TATE in St.Ives I have been to Modern and Britain numerous times and was expecting a similar experience. First off the entry fee of £10 for Tate and Hempworth is way to high for the quality of shows...More

We've visited here a few times and I'm always surprised at how odd the exhibitions tend to be. This visit was no exception. Worth a quick look if you have an Art Pass and the cafe is nice with great views.

Our first time at Tate St Ives. As regular visitors to Tate London and Britain, we were very disappointed with the studio pottery show that was on. Really had to find anything that inspired us. The best part was the video and examples of Leach...More

We had been unable to visit the gallery last year as it was closed, so were looking forward to the reopening this year. However, in half an hour we had seen all there was to see so did not feel the entrance fee was worth...More

We took the 11.00 tour around the galleries, which made a big difference to two people ignorant of the history of art in St Ives. It bought the Tate galley in ST Ives to life for us,and the coffee shop was worth a visit as well....More

Thanks for your feedback following your visit to the gallery, it's great to hear you enjoyed the exhibition and tour. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is beautiful at this time of year - I hope you have a good day.

Went and looked round gallery first then lunch on top floor. Stunning views with excellent quality food serviced. Rare roast beef sandwiches and freshly squeezed orange juice .... could not fault !!

The building and gallery offer a fantastic space however not all the exhibits reflect the greatest examples of British talent. Great view from the cafe!

What can I say? This was my first and will probably last visit to a Tate gallery. Good: really interesting video and exhibition about potters making a teapot from scratch. The finished teapots and exhibition of the 'components' during the build on display is well...More
