Tate St Ives features work by iconic 20th century artists who lived and worked in the town, including Alfred Wallis, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, demonstrating the role of St Ives in the story of modern art. This is combined with a new programme of large-scale seasonal shows, beginning with sculptor Rebecca Warren’s first major UK exhibition.

Fortunately we had a free pass,as it certainly wasn't worth £10.50 each. The experience started with the scowling receptionist who couldn't afford recognised customer service skills. Fortunately we were greeted by a very pleasant, smiling young lady who checked out tickets. Unfortunately that was it...More

As with one other reviewer, this was a visit to tick off our 'to do' list. The building is lovely and the view is an artwork in itself in the way that the building is designed around it. Not really interested in modern art but...More

This modern art museum is so underwhelming and disappointing. The building is interesting as are the views of St Ives through the various windows. Unfortunately there are only a few, in my opinion, legitimate pieces of art. It feels a bit “emperor’s new clothes”. The...More

When in St Ives it’s a place to visit, if only just to take it off your “to do” list. Interesting building with good views of the sea.....I thought that was the best visual experience in the gallery. Some artwork was worth studying in detail...More

As an art student and art lover myself, I naturally really enjoyed my visit. Though much of the art is very contemporary, it was no doubt fun and interesting to observe. There were some stunning detailed works, there was even an original Picasso piece exhibited!...More

I start with a confession, my choice of art leans more towards the classical. The gallery itself is built in a difficult part of town over 6 levels making it a challenge for anyone with limited mobility. There is one bookable parking space at the...More

My partner really enjoyed the artwork and sculptures in the gallery. His son took us and it was a very interesting visit. Helpful staff and the coffee shop had a good selection of snacks and food.
