Tate St Ives features work by iconic 20th century artists who lived and worked in the town, including Alfred Wallis, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, demonstrating the role of St Ives in the story of modern art. This is combined with a new programme of large-scale seasonal shows, beginning with sculptor Rebecca Warren’s first major UK exhibition.

There is some great art on display - but the overall feel of the gallery is clinical and not very welcoming. I had been to the Penlee House Art Galley in Penzance the previous day which I much preferred.

There is a great deal of pleasure to be had at the Tate with the variety of modern and challenging art on display. The highlight for me were a couple of small sculptures, one of a Bird by Dame Elizabeth Frink that I kept returning...More

One of the reasons we came to St Ives was for the Tate Modern. It is a small museum but packed with amazing art and artefacts. It took us two days to really experience everything they had. The building itself is also perfect and strategically...More

Exciting modern art gallery in lovely setting. The new gallery is a great addition and has allowed much more space for seeing more of the Tate's modernist collection. This has been curated to enable you to make new and interesting connections between European, British and...More

I was so looking forward to this, and felt so disappointed. In fact I took a series of photos through the windows and fantasised about exhibiting them under the title, "The Sea Outside is So much Lovelier than Everything in Here." I almost asked for...More
