This is a lovely beach with fine golden sand, sheltering rocks at either end and clear blue water. I visited the beach in the late afternoon on a very hot day in summer and found the water surprisingly cold. Most swimmers that I saw were...More

We always book accommodation that overlooks Porthmeor Beach and it's a no brainer why... Beautiful sandy beach with the most wonderful views. Also plenty of watersport activities to participate in, great beach shops and you can even have fish and chips plus a cheeky beer...More

Off season, during the week: The beach is just the right size - I don't like theses 2 mile beaches where you easily drift a few hundred yards without noticing - and has everything you can ask for: great surf, lifeguards changing facilities, showers a...More

We visited in June and loved the beach. It was beautiful and sandy but also had some rock pools nearby. It was clean and even though lots of dogs were around, there was o sign of any mess. It can get a bit blustery but...More

Stopped SWCP for half a day and went surfing every bit as fun as previous visits in 97 with kids and in 76 before kids. If I can still make it in 2037, I will let you know. Parking for three hours just above was...More

Facing the ocean, the waves are often large and the water temperature is in the 50s. Not for amateur swimmers. The beach part is very nice, but make sure you bring windbreakers. I got stung by some unknown fish or plant while reaching for shells...More

We enjoyed the view from Porthmeor beach restaurant. The food was great, we ate as we watched the surfers. It's just below the Tate Gallery, and above the beach

Hi, Whilst looking on the internet last year, I saw one of the Meadow Flats overlooking Porthmeor Beach advertised as a holiday let, & thought what a wonderful place to stay. Now I want to visit St Ives again I cant find it, so I wondered if anyone could please point me in the right direction; (assuming of course that it's still available. I've 'googled' it but cant seem to find it. Any help appreciated thank you. Pat
