St Ives is surrounded by the light and sound of several of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Porthminster has a cafe which serves some of the best food in the area, and also a bar for coffee, cake and ices. But the sea,...More

Best beach in St Ives for many reasons Wide sandy beach, plenty of room for playing games, spreading out etc. Lots to keep little ones happy. Never cramped. Toilets just a stroll the other side of the putting green, the golf is also great fun...More

This beach was breath-taking, clean aqua coloured water with white waves crashing down. I could have stayed watching the sea here all day.

What a beach ... is something you'll say one most beaches in St Ives. But Porthminster for me takes the biscuit as the best in St. Ives. Golden sands, great views, lush seas ... what's not to like?

All the pictures Speak for themselves...a great big wide beach... perfect any time of year. We love it in winter as it's lovely and empty...waves are always great on this beach and there's a few decent cafes on or around the beach to take refuge...More

Had a lovely day here, taking in this beach and many others around St Ives. Yes the weather was poor but the views are still stunning, cafe provides warmth and friendly atmosphere. Must come back when warmer!!

Fantastic beach with lovely soft sand, great for dog walking in winter. Looks like they have facilities here in the summer, we visited in February so it was naturally fairly basic. But so beautiful.

Better than the Med - when the sun is shining. Good catering, not too windy, but watch the sea gulls - very aggressive and saw more than one unexpecting visitor have food snatched from their hands!

This wasn’t our favourite beach in St Ives. In January it was a little tired looking with shut down accommodation and beach huts. However the surfer entertainment was great, especially given the windy weather! Clear sea, clean sand, and dog friendly with a wide amount...More

It's flat so great for paddle boarding. They do hire surf boards but you do surfing on the beach on the other side of St. Ives.
