This fascinating museum provides a lovely history into time’s gone by of a proud Cornish Community. The memorabilia from all aspects of life in a rural fishing village, particularly of lost lives is very emotional. A beautiful local lady volunteer chatted for ages with us....More

Beautifully presented exhibitions in stunning location. Staff helpful and friendly, overpriced cafe but then everything in St Ives seems now to be quite expensive. Overlooks the beach. Not to be missed.

This museum stores a remarkable selection of memorabilia- so much that it is difficult to walk through. It is run by volunteers who deserve much credit. Some exhibits would be very appealing, such as the paintings of ships with handwritten notes about them and the...More

This museum is a very dense, arguably slightly jumbled, collection of all manner of memorabilia about st Ives. It includes social history, civic pride, two very notable disasters: the loss of the st Ives life boat, and a tin mining disaster that killed 31 men,...More

A wonderful museum showing how life in St Ives was many years ago and all what went on. Very reasonably priced and an ideal thing to do if raining

Despite signs outside saying open 10.30 to 4.30 Mon to Fri, there's a piece of paper stuck in the window saying closed until Easter 2018. We weren't the only ones trying to take a look either.

Fascinating museum with a huge amount to see regarding St Ives, the displays are meticulously presented in a very traditional style. The collections predominantly reflect nautical, railway and agricultural themes, but also local collections donated locally. Spent a pleasant few hours in this museum

Not even on a miserable rainy day did we think this museum was worth the stop. Yes it is certainly packed with all sorts of things the locals probably thought should be in a museum. But the collection is in dire need of a good...More
