Fantastic little theatre that's quaint and built in an old boathouse. With its thick white washed walls and hidden puppets in any alcove, it engages you from the minute you walk in. The shows are always brilliant. The squeaks of the boards above as the puppeteers work their magic with marionette puppets is so lovely to see. In fact, where... More

The perfect, puppet experience. Based on traditional themes it is great fun for all age groups, be prepared for a little interaction and getting close and personal with 'Harry'. We spent a thoroughly magical time in this gem of a theatre, it is probably the smallest we have ever been to, but my son says it is the best theatre... More

It's a jolly, intimate night in this tiny theatre space. Please do support it. We saw Strangers in the Night there: high acting standard and a gratifying shriek from the audience at the denouement. All a stone's throw from the harbour in St Ives

This was my 2nd visit & my daughter's 3rd. The theatre is small and intimate and the presentation is very intimate from the moment you enter and get a friendly welcome. This year we saw Hansel & Gretel & the Teddy Bears' Picnic. I didn't feel that H&G was as good as the previous performance I'd seen but the TBP... More

We had a magical afternoon watching Hansel and Gretel and The Teddy Bears' Picnic beautifully performed by the expert puppeteers. It is refreshing to see this great rational art form being kept alive in this far off but beautiful corner of Britain. Don't miss it if you are in St Ives as the Boathouse is a very special place. And... More

We have been now for the past 3 years whilst on holiday and it has now become one of our must do things. The staff are great remembering children that are repeat guests form one year to the next. The work that goes into the shows is fantastic and draws the attention of children and adults alike. I can not... More

We just spent a wonderful hour enjoying the show at the Boathouse Theatre.. It was an extra show and a beautiful day.. So we were the only people there.. But could not have been made to feel more welcome. The kids (ages 6,7 and 1) all enjoyed the show and were roaring with laughter.. It is real old fashioned entertainment..... More

Josh (7) and I had a lovely time at this quirky little theatre. We didn't expect much but the welcome, atmosphere, puppets and songs were simply great (as were the squash and biscuits in the break). We'll definitely come back when we're next in St Ives.
