Hooker's emphasis on Scripture, reason, and tradition considerably influenced the development of Anglicanism, as well as many political philosophers, including John Locke. He is an underrated person these days but very important and this statue is a fitting memorial to him.

A bit lost amidst the tourist throng who probably don't know who Hooker is. Wonder what he'd make of the CofE today and charging £7.50 to get into the Cathedral?

The Statue of Richard Hooker is east of the Cathedral entrance, extremely grand! Great for those selfies and photos!

What can you say about any statue - a good perch for seagulls if this one is anything to go by. OK I suppose.
