Whether you want a quiet gentle stroll or an exhilarating mountain biking experience, there’s something for you at Haldon Forest Park. 3,500 acres of woodland just fifteen minutes from Exeter. We have a network of walking and cycling trails that suit people of all abilities. There is also a cycle skills area and pump loop for people to practice and develop their off road cycling skills. The Ridge Cafe is open every day on site serving a range of delicious food and drinks. Forest Cycle Hire is also based at Haldon for those who want to hire a bike when they arrive and Haldon is also home to Go Ape, the high wire adventure course. This is a huge place with something for everyone - from zip-wires, segways, bikes and walkers and even horses! There is plenty of parking (not cheap - but proceeds go toward maintaining the facilities etc). The Park comprises quite a few 'trails' of differing grades of length/difficulty. I am a cyclist (road) so I stick to enjoying long walks here... More

A great facility offering blue and red runs for riders of all levels of experience. The cafe is terrific and serves fantastic cakes , breakfasts and lunches with indoor and outdoor seating and a log burner for those cold winter mornings. Car park is a little steep at £4 but if you cram a few in a car it is... More

Love this place and its facilities. My only complaint is the lack of trail maintenance, a lot of the trails are suffering from braking bumps from users not braking efficiently. As a previously professional trail builder..I'd love to become involved volunteering..but think the weekly group has ceased.

After purchasing a bike from someone in Teignmouth we were told to head on up to Haldon forest...... wow, this place is amazing for all cycling ages and abilities. With many different tracks and gradients also dirt tracks with jumps for kids to practice, Haldon forest really does have it all. I was in absolute awe of just how many... More

Yes the setting is great. Yes the small cafe is great. Yes the FC have done a lot of work there etc etc However, do you really have to "mug off" the public by charging them so much for parking? At £7 for all day, along with the introduction of registration recording pay meters to stop transfer of tickets, its... More

I love the forest and the wildlife but had never experienced the adventure cycle route until taking a group of students out for a buzz around the forest. Fantastic and not too physical..

Travelling from Wales to the South West fairly regularly we find this park an ideal place to stop to walk the dog, and the cafe is much nicer than service stations! The dog walks can vary from a 20 min off lead quick walk to one approaching well over and hour. Good toilet facilities. Lovely views where it opens out... More
