Only ever visited once before so decided to go for Sunday lunch at the last minute. What a fantastic decision. We had 2adult carverys and 1 child's carvery. The beef and pork where the best I've ever had in a carvery and the vegetables where very fresh. They even made a nut roast and vegetable gravy for my daughter. The... More

Loved our visit here. We met family and friends and were a very large party. It was managed really well with a menu that had something for everyone and majority of it was fresh and home-made. Staff were exceptionally busy as it was the holidays and the pub was full to the rafters! They coped admirably - we'll done you,... More

We visited the pub for lunch after a wonderful walk through the Teign gorge from Chagford. It's a fabulous location with no competition for some distance. And that is evident from the service provided. The cheese baguette was sprinkled with grated cheddar, no chunk of cheese here! The pub was very busy indeed, it needs some competition to raise the... The positives: stunning location, deservedly hugely popular beauty spot, acceptably-priced food. But: limited (microwave-focused?) menu, lacklustre staff bordering on unfriendly, and decor that should be condemned! This place appears to be a gold-mine as it was so busy when when visited. Yet it seems perhaps the lack of immediate competition breeds complacency. The experience could be so much better.

Just visited this pub for lunch after our dog walk up the river! Very popular and busy on the Sunday lunchtime we visited. Sun was shining so we opted for the terrace over looking the river although dogs are allowed in bar area. Carvery was amazing, choice of four meats, vegetables were piping hot, gravy was scrumptious. We also had... More

I don't think I can add anything to previous comments as its all about the wonderful location of this place. Having completed the amazing Castle Drop circuit it was just lovely to enjoy good drinks by the river. Didn't eat as stopped serving while we were there.

This pub could be seriously special because it's in a stunning location. I get the feeling though that the owners are complacent because the pub has no competition because of where it's placed and that's such a shame! Service was rather grouchy and the food was average at best. I also thought the food was seriously over priced. It is... More

Stopped at Fingle Bridge Inn whilst walking a route around the River Teign from Castle Drogo. Lovely location with good facilities and friendly staff. Idyllic location next to the river great for kids and dogs. The route from the castle is one of the prettiest in the area and relatively easy especially when completed in a clockwise direction.

Walked here from Sandy Park which is upstream. Lovely location with ample seating outside by the river Teign. Good selection of ales, lagers and cider. We didn't sample the food but it looked wholesome and the numerous other customers looked like they were enjoying it. Dogs are allowed in the bar which is always a plus for us.
