A quiet spot!

If you want a walk on a beach with no facilities then this is the place. There is some parking on the side of the road but it is essentially a narrow road with 'pull-ins'

As has been said in other reviews arrive early. I'm fairly local and normally arrive early in the morning in order to park as close to the beach as possible as their are paddle boards to unload. The river is sheltered and fairly shallow when the tide is out. l learnt to sailboard here and if you are a novice... More

We visit this beach out of season, when it is easy to access and park. In the summer however beware!! It's down little country lanes and then parking is severely limited. So if you don't like reversing or have a car you cherish I would avoid it at all costs! The road has deteriorated with some large potholes on the... More

A coupe of in-laws turned up to see the new house on a very sunny day in Devon. After a look around, lunch was called for and Wonwell beach won on the toss of a coin. This I knew was not a good choose this time of year but off we want. The short cuts are not advised due to... More

Beautiful beach that is relatively quiet. When you see parking you realise why. Unless you like reversing for many yards make sure you go to the bottom of the road to turn your car around and get there early. Great place for kayaking and when the tide is our there is a lot beach available.

Fabulous estuary beach, breathtakingly rugged with interesting history displaying some derelict lime kilns, customs cottages etc from the past. Also interesting film sets in years gone by. Great place to relax and dog walk through it's location. My comment to the previous reviewer is that he was in the wrong area at the wrong time..this is remote Devon at it's... More

Down a long steep hill to a dead end with vitually NO safe parking & no turning - even when the road side isn't already collapsing down a cliff into the beach.

Parking is very limited at the end of a very narrow country lane can be a bit of nightmare in the summer months, best to park at the Mothercombe side of the estuary where there is a car park and lovely little cafe in the old school. Walk to the beaches from the car park is down a fairly steep... More
