Overall we both enjoyed our day here. We spent the morning in the walled garden listening to jazz & blues and after scallops and chorizo for lunch we moved to the green to watch a crazy Canadian entertain us with general silliness. Much later we enjoyed a cabaret including some wonderful burlesque dancers and again a crazy 'Flash Gordon' character... More

This place boasts about the history way back from WW II. Luckily I got into a groove with a tourist guide and understood all the places where the army used to access during the war. The beauty is simply amazing and I've been told that one of the reservoirs is going to be converted into a parking lot... I guess... More

A part of Plymouth's rich history and well worth a wandering around for an hour or so and taking in the great sea views. Then take a ferry to the Barbican. Plenty of eateries (if your not on a tight budget) and every first Sunday of the month there is a good food market.

As locals we often visit RWY - it's a great setting and we like most of the restaurants, bars and the little market is ok. However the new parking arrangements are a disaster. What a stupid decision to change to up front charges - who knows how long we might spend in a restaurant ? - It's a money making... More

If you like good food and good wine, this is the place, good eateries with many choices of cuisine. Good outside seating and you can get a water taxi to the barbican too. Negative for me is the parking as quite expensive. Good local buses though and some free parking near by, if you get there early

A great area where we also had our apartment. You can take the ferry/boat from here (£3 adults, £2 children) to the Barbican area. There are different kind of restaurants here and the wonderful Devils Point gardens with great views.

We have stayed at Royal William Yard on 4 occasions all in different apartments, excellent apartments and excellent position for getting into the town centre and getting around. Good choice of restaurants . Local bus now comes into the yard to take you to the town centre along with water bus which goes to the Barbican. If you are fit... More
