Thev SW coastal path is wonderful. Gets you off the beaten path and into beautiful countryside and views. Some parts are more challenging than others but the path offers something for everybody. Have done several hikes now and not one disappointment.

Some of the very best of the English coastal walkways, all well maintained with great villages on route

Just walking a short section of the South West Cost Path, makes me realize just how unfit I am, I have to get out and walk more and this is a perfect place to start, with great views as you walk along the Cornish coast.

I spent a week with my dog near Salcombe trying out the path for future reference. I am going to walk the whole route and wanted to see how my dog coped. The scenery is stunning and route most enjoyable. Not suitable for less than fit people though as there are steep parts.

I have walked 44% of the path so far and hope to keep doing more. I live on the South Coast so have done many sections on more than one occasion. Some sections are better than others but I have never had a day that has not been enjoyable and rewarding in some way.

Every section is a beautiful walk and you can customize your outing to any length. Even back-tracking to go back to your car gives you new views for your awe-ing pleasure!

Excellent coastal walk. The terrain is not too difficult & the views are world class. A large amount of the surrounding coast is owned by The National Trust & there are several NT properties nearby well worth a visit.

Why go abroad when there is 630 miles of stunning coast line walking from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset. Great walking and scenery guaranteed throughout. I recommend walking in the Spring or Autumn mainly because it is easier to obtain accommodation. My wife and I completed this is 4-5 sessions from 2010 to 2015. Huge fun.

One of the best long distance paths in the country. Fabulous scenery all the way but parts of it are quite tough as lots of cliffs and that means hills.

I have done this walk several times for charity and Its different every time. Please do not do any cliff walks here in bad weather or strong winds as can be dangerous. Old path maps will be out of date as sadly erosion has altered some of them. You will find peace and great joy in the south west coast... More
