Under New Management since November 2013!

A quintessential 17th Century Inn, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, at the bottom of a steep valley next to Bow Creek and bridge. The Inn has been used as a smithy, a brew house, petrol station, a prison and a haunt for the feared press gangs. The area was recorded in the doomsday book.

Built in the 17th-century, Waterman's Arms overlooks tinkling Bow Creek, near Tuckenhay.

We have fifteen beautiful, well appointed en-suite rooms with large bathrooms and powerful showers in the Annexe and spacious powerful shower rooms in the Inn. Direct dial telephones and free Wi-Fi equipped throughout.

With riverside sitting across from the Inn, The Waterman's is the ideal place for a relaxing drink or a delicious meal by the river.

We also have newly refurbished sitting to the side of the Inn on the patio.

We have two separate dining rooms, on three different levels, seating no more than 35 people in each, they have been recently updated and are now bright, airy and as modern as a 17th century inn can be!

A truly amazing spot. Great beers. Friendly staff and if the weather is nice you have got to sit by the river....

Great location, probably nicer in the summer than the winter as went in feb and nobody around. Great pub on the outside, rooms were really nice too, but the actual pub could do with a massive sorting out, too many bright lights, so lack of relaxed ambience, nice Irish touch in some areas but old carpets in the breakfast area... Great location and a lovely chilled atmosphere, we only popped in for a couple of soft drinks and were charged more than we would of been if we had 2 alcoholic drinks, pubs out in the sticks must make soft drinks cheaper to encourage people to visit.

Good side: the place is next Dart River, you could have a drink or a dinner sitting on the outdoor picnic tables while watching the running stream or the ducks. Food is generally nice with a few choices on the breakfast menu. It is recommended to book a dinner table as it seems to get busy during the summer holidays.... More

We popped in on our way to Cornworthy. Good beer and good, but simply food. I had a really robust Ploughman's and a pint of Otter beer - both excellent. Sat by the river in the sunshine. Bliss. This is definitely a pub that does food and not a "Gastropub" but at least it knows that. Definately worth a visit... More

Hidden away by a slow flowing tidal river.Very nice food, helpful staff. Lots of choice on the menu. You can sit in doors or out under cover or out in the sunshine. Plenty of parking.
