Theatre royal is great. We go every few months and saw swan lake last night. There's a good range of seats with different costs and it's right in the centre of town with everything on its doorstep.

Visited as part of our joint Christmas present to each other which was the Adele songbook, the theatre has comfortable spacious seats, the staff were helpful and polite , sadly the only let down was the local parking charges are high

TRB is great for small venue, but seating is tight and it does get hot in the royal circle, good view of the stage. Sunny Afternoon was a bit slow in the 1st half, needed more music and less droning on about the bands contractual woes. 2nd half was more lively and ended on a high. Overall we enjoyed ourselves... Lovely venue, went to see Sunny Afternoon, the story of The Kinks, and were lucky enough to get the last 2 tickets! The girls in the box office were really friendly, and the staff and atmosphere were second to none

My first time at this theatre, a really beautiful building. The show was wonderful, we were virtually on the stage we were so close! Only downside was the long queues for the ladies toilets during the interval - definitely need more as spent most of the interval standing in line. By the time I came out, there were no more... Well done, went with a friend who adored the musical. This was my third time seeing it and I still really enjoyed the performance. A little young for the Kinks in the sixties . However Kinks music is now one of my favourites. You must see it. I thought the Theatre Royal was intimate and you felt involved with the... More

Seats in the Royal Circle, not a great view and poor sound that really took the gloss off the first act. Second act was much better with more energy.

O.k. Theatre is lovely. We sat in the Royal Circle which had great views. Just note that there are only two ladies toilets on this floor, so give yourself plenty of time. As for the Show, well if you like the music of the Kinks, then Sunny Afternoon is a must see. Just be aware that the actual entrance is... More

This musical, about the early years of the 1960s pop group "The Kinks " was one of the best shows that I have ever seen the cast are brilliant the music just wonderful, everything about this show was a delight, the audience loved it and at the end the standing ovation was almost never ending. This show has won many awards... More

Wonderful theatrical ambience. Theatre as it should be. Concessions for Thursday and Saturday matinees. Highly recommended. Go go go!
