Interesting museum slightly off the beaten track away from seafront. Lovely building. Interesting displays including children's toys through history. Nice for a rainy afternoon. Small shop and cafe. Friendly staff.

I stopped here today on the Snow Dog trail. I would say this place is great and learnt a lot about local life and History. Well worth a stop by.

Don't miss a permanent small selection on display of the important Barnes Pre-Cinema and early photography collection on the first floor. Amazing lift. Take the lift rather than the stairs. Ground floor changing exhibitions. Child friendly. Museum closes at 5.00 pm. Tearoom closes at 4.30....More
