We wanted to visit this pier and although very nice, it is definitely meant for young family's or teens. Nothing romantic about the walk on this one.

The west pier closed in 1975 as it was no longer financially viable. It was the structurally damaged in the great storm of 1987, and subject of two arson attacks in 2003. The remaining iron skeleton is now a local Landmark. English Heritage and the...More

The remains of the West Pier make for a stunning photo opportunity, particularly at sunset. However, don’t just take photos, it’s worth researching the fantastic history of the pier in all its glory!

This pier was burnt down by person or persons unknown on more than one occasion. We are very sad about that.

A beautiful reminder of Brighton’s history. No end of people stopping to take pictures of it when I visited.

It’s a sad piece of history which is not improved by having a dangerous rusty eyesore in the sea. Personally I think it should be safely removed.

Nice to see an example of the history of Brighton. They have included some of the original features of the original pier front in the newly renovated ticket office at the 360i. I understand the pier structure was so well made that they cannot remove...More

A real shame and not a lot to see. Just a iron construction that was once mighty. You cant miss it if you are walking along the beach. A far nice place than the other one x

Did not walk on it. Can see wreckage out in the water. You can walk on new Brighton Pier which has lots of attractions and eats.

As John it would be a very wet tea! The pier is derelict now just a shell, currently building a viewing tower on sight. If you want a cream tea, try the Grand Hotel nearby.
