Nice sightseeing
Apr 2021
Don't miss to stop in Bibury for snack or a short walk round village. It would be nice walk on the bank of river Coln, see the old stone bridge and enjoy the nice view of clear water with swans and ducks flow in it. Also at the end of the bank, worths to take a detour to Arlington row and see the traditional houses with characteristic of lime stone architexture there is in Cotswolds.

Bucolic ramble.

We enjoyed a lazy wander along the Coln from Bibury to Coln St Aldwyn on a warm September morning and it was idyllic. Lots of preservation work has been done to provide natural habitats for wildlife and it certainly adds to the already beautiful,Cotswold surroundings.

Part of Picturesque Bibury
Sep 2019
Explored this tiny Cotswold Village and it's picturesque Arlington Row, The River Coln is part of the magic that makes this one of the loveliest villages in the Cotswolds. We visited late afternoon, which seemed a very good choice as we weren't competing with heaps of tourist. We were able admire and enjoy.

Walked through the Bilbury Village including Arlington Row of houses. The River Coln runs through Bilbury Village and provides a natural beautiful waterscape with greenery and gardens along it.

Motor Home CL Site near Bibury
Oct 2019
The Coln Valley is beautiful, the river runs through many of the Cotswold villages we wanted to visit so we put our motor home back on the Orchard Meadow CL site just outside of Bibury. Fabulous place, used to be called Greenacres, they now don't except dogs which is not a bad thing, but they have Electrical hook ups and water to each pitch, they do waste recycling and you can walk into Bibury which helps as Bibury has a terrible parking problem and the Catherine wheel pub is half way down the hill to Bibury so a great place to stop for a drink on the way back up. The site owners are very friendly and helpful, there are maps of the area in the information huts, as well as walking routes and a list of things to do and places to visit. So if you are visiting the Coln Valley and the Cotswolds with a motor home or caravan and belong to the motor home and Caravan club this is a really good central place to stay,

One of prettiest Cotswol villages with trout stream
Nov 2019
Such a stunning village to walk around following the river Coln. Try to visit early or late as very popular with Japanese on bus trips from London. Warm cotswold mellow stone in cottages, lovely church, just a pleasure to walk around even in rain, probably as buildings aren’t grey! Many good places to eat/drink/lunch, trout a specialty in many pubs and you can even buy fresh trout or catch your own

Nice stroll along the river
Sep 2019 • Friends
We took a short stroll from the trout farm along the river bank to the beautiful Arlington Row. The water in the River Coln is crystal clear and the bank opposite the road was much more tranquil with few tourists. We then walked back along the road but were still able to see the river. I think this side is where most of the tourists are. Parking is not easy as it is so busy , if you come early or later in the day it is not so bad.

Crystal clear trout river

The River Coln is crystal clear. Running all the way through the Coln valley. Trout, grass snakes, swans and lots of wildlife can be seen everywhere. The countryside is stunning too.

Bibury Village
Sep 2019
Bibury is a very picturesque village in the Cotswolds on the river Coln. At the time of our visit parking was free by the road side and there were facilities and refreshments available for visitors in the shop adjacent to the Trout Farm

Stunning quaint village!
Aug 2019 • Couples
Came across this beautiful quaint village when in a road trip around the Cotswolds. So glad we did! Parking was a bit of a problem as many tourist there but we managed to park a little way out and it was a pleasant walk in. The village is beautiful and well kept. The cottages are absolutely stunning. Did feel a bit sorry for the people that lived in them as must feel they live in a goldfish bowl. Prettiest place we’ve been in a long time. Well worth a visit.
