Interesting exhibition about life working in the Dockyard during the war years. You could easily miss the exhibition thoughave as it is tucked in behind a shop and cafe.

Part of the Museum showing many an old trade from ship building plus sounds of the time and showing HMS Sirius ships bell and war record which was aboard HMS Sirius in the Wardroom Flat/officer cabin area.

If you are here to see all the attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard it's worth stopping at Boathouse #4 to check the "International Boatbuilding Training College", where you take a sneak peek at their work while they build and restore boats.

An interesting look behind the naval shore trades and how young men were raised in those trades but eminently dispensable. Go if you have the time and want to do everything.

A walk down memory lane of carpenters, engineers, mechanics and how lads had to work as an aprentice. I think you would have to have an interest in these in order to benefit. having said that, it does no harm to see what work others...More
