I was told that they have the biggest art collection after London. Their catalogue is indeed very impressive. It's just a shame they have just one floor (what means not enough space) to show it. Very nice staff. The library on the first floor is...More

Those who live within reach are fortunate indeed as it is a splendid provincial gallery with a truly eclectic collection where Gainsborough rubs shoulders with Desmond Morris of Naked Ape fame. Fans of Burne-Jones are in for a major treat in the Baring room with...More

I've been to the gallery a few times over the years, I really do enjoy to get lost in the art work. The kids loved it too, would recommend for a family day out!

Whilst not a huge gallery, it does house over 5000 pieces of artwork and there are regular exhibitions. Free entrance well worth a visit.

Took our kids (2,10 and 10) and the older kids loved the varied art. Our 2 year old loved it too. Calm, lovely building. Great exhibits. Mixture of modern, old, abstract, sculptures and we'll be coming again. Free too - great value. Thank you. 😊

This is a very relaxing place to visit. Free admission. Shame that some of the rooms were closed due to exhibition being set up. Still some nice art to browse. Would like to have seen more. Would recommend.
