There are many beautiful walks of varying lengths on The Common, many on even paths, others across grass and through wooded areas. There are three lakes. The fishing lake is the loveliest with wonderful reflections of the trees and bushes in the water and water lilies and yellow flags in early summer. There is a children's play area and a... More

I you are hoping to see wombles you're in the wrong place, The wombles live at Wimbledon common, however!! Southampton common is a credit to Southampton, the only thing is there aren't many first Southampton busses that go there and it's too far from the town centre by foot for a lot of people, as you reach the place you... The health Walk was great. It was a clear cold day and there was some wonderful scenery from the frost rising from the ground. I would have liked to explore the area more. There is a cafe in the area too.

This is an amazing walking path along the riverside that has a magical end (The Swan Carvery Pub!) We walked for hours on Christmas day the park was alive with people and families all with the same idea. There were kids feeding the swans and other birds that are abundant long the water. Dogs of all shapes and sizes having... More

This is a large area of common land away from the city centre. Lots of people visit to walk dogs, jog or feed the birds and ducks. There is ample parking, coffee shop and the Cowherds Pub close by. It is a large area which can provide an ample walk for almost everyone but the hardened walkers - there are... More

Acres of well-kept common land to explore, a really great place to walk the dog or just wander about. Lots of variation - ponds, woodland, grass, children's play areas etc. A handy pub on the edge of the common that sells real ales and mid-price food.

My boys aged 4 and 6 love to explore off the beaten track here. It's safe and good fun. We went fungi hunting last weekend and found loads for them to look at. m

Standard large park with a duck pond, nice enough to walk around but nothing special. There are a couple of paths that bicycles aren't supposed to go down but some still do. The only toilets are at the bottom of the park in the activity centre.

Nice place to rewind after work and good to get some exercise on the common. A very green space and worth a visit.
