Not to be missed if you visit Hereford. Really interesting cathedral with some wonderful stained glass and topped off by the mappa mundi which is fabulous, especially the English translation . Chained library is very interesting, but what fascinated me most was the sheer age...More

Hereford cathedral, like most English cathedrals, is awe inspiring, beautiful and interesting. Many tombs and beautiful windows to be admired. Both modern and ancient stained glass, The SAS memorial is thought provoking and beautiful.

The Cathedral has all the impressiveness of a Cathedral but is just that bit smaller which makes it that much easier to appreciate. The SAS stain glass window is inspiring, with other hidden gems. A real enjoyment surrounded by a car free area.

Have visited Worcester, Gloucester and Hereford Cathedrals recently, and although all were beautiful, there is sonething really special about Hereford. I'm not a religious person, but felt peace and calm as I walked around, The stained glass windows are amazing, the lighting, and it's architecture...More

Hereford cathedral holds two great treasures - Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library. These are encased within a magnificent lofted cathedral. Only the British can present history so well. The Mappa Mundi exhibition, is small, but perfectly formed. The new building that houses the chained...More

Visited the Cathedral and stayed for choral evensong. The choir was one of the best we have heard. Unfortunately the map of mundi was closed but we had seen it before.More

Thank you very much for reviewing your visit. We're so glad you were able to stay for Evensong and hear our choir. We are very proud of them. It was a shame that staff shortages forced us to close the Mappa Mundi exhibition last week,...More

Possibly the best tourist place in Hereford. The Mappa Mundi exhibition and the chained library are ace! Real eye openers. The cathedral itself is ace with tours that involve a trip up the tower to ace views. Nice garden and tasteful cafe. Easy to spend...More

A fantastic cathedral to visit. Lovely surroundings. Not being 'forced' to pay did make you want to contribute! Well worth a visit.

Just to clarify the situation on behalf of the cathedral - I'm afraid that our office staff are not able to look after dogs while their owners look round the cathedral. This may have been possible in the past but the... More
