March is the perfect time for the Garden the daffodils are in full cry and the place is coming alive. It's is easy to find and a lovely half an hour walk though quite steep at times. The Wye dominates most vistas but the gardens are the perfect backdrop. It certainly in Spring is simply beautiful and well worth a... More

Without stopping to admire the views, sit by the river and look at the flowers the walk round takes an approx 3/4 hour. And then you have to go to the tea tent and the walled garden. We noticed a couple of people with walking difficulties having to take the slopes and the occasional narrow path very slowly. So not... More

An excellent choice for an enchanting breath of fresh air and a little exercise at any time of year but particularly enchanting in Spring because off the wealth of bulbs planted naturally amongst the grass and tree roots . The garden falls in roughly three tiers down from the White Georgian house ( now a nursing home ) to the... More

We visited in February to see the snowdrops and thought the garden was absolutely delightful. There are tremendous views over the River Wye and plenty of well marked paths to follow. The woodland area bordering the river is great with a children's play area and tables for picnics. Would love to go back in April to see the daffodils which... More

The best time to visit is in the spring early for snowdrops and later for daffodils. Nice in good weather to take a picnic. There are toilets and a National trust shop but only limited refreshment in a tent.

This was our second national trust visit since we signed up and it was so lovely there was a little trail for the kids to follow and the garden at the bottom was beautiful it looked over to a river and we sat on a bench watching little boats sail by! There was an obstacle course with a swing and... More

The scenery and immediate surroundings are attractive. It is unlike many other National Trust properties because there is no house and the garden area is smaller. Recent improvements provide simple activities for children such as digging for "bones". Choose your time to visit and flowers will be in bloom (e.g. Bluebells). It is worth visiting but don't expect the usual... More

This was our first visit to The Weir Gardens. A lovely surprise, the views are spectacular along the river Wye with well laid out paths and plenty of interesting areas. My grandson particularly enjoyed the play area, very imaginative. The main purpose of the visit today was to find Santa's reindeer and have a chat with Santa himself. The reindeer... More

My parents often visit but confine themselves to the flatter areas round the office and "honesty" tea hut and down to the walled garden. This visit I was able to take Mum down along the river and help her up the steeper parts on the way back. Dad made himself a cuppa and dozed for a while! It nice to... More

This place is a little gem. The woods are delightful and you can do a one mile round trip with the second half walking beside the beautiful Wye. It lacked the high commercial presence of many NT places e.g. the shop and tea house were not open due to a lack of volunteers but that added to the charm. One... More
