This has magnificent gardens, on a small but enticing scale. The building is full of nooks and crannies, stories and ghosts, and it is an absolute must for visitors. Don't forget to visit the Physic Garden.

We were entertained by the tour leader's skilful commentary of the history of the building, the family, and their place in English history.

A delightful tour of the house that is still a home with plenty of history and a wonderful, intriguing garden. Open Sundays and Wednesdays.
