Walrus & Oyster Emporium is a collective of local artists and creators sharing a space to sell their creative goods. This is the perfect way to get a feel for a city's artistic community while also supporting local artists as you shop for gifts, clothing, decorations, and more. Additionally, the creators also volunteer for running the shop, so you get to meet the people behind the products and hear their stories.
I met Kevin when I was there, and he shared his research into creating perfumes based on ancient Egyptian scents and ingredients. It's such a treat to see the passion behind the creations and what inspires them! Additionally, there are several areas by autistic creators and items met for autistic individuals, like sensory aware socks, that give a more inclusive shopping experience.
Overall, this is a great store, and should be on every shopper's list when in Cantebury!

Great shop with all sorts of intriguing art and item., I adored the variety and the fact that the artists are so intimately involved and get so much control of their pricing/offerings. Fab place to visit to spend time and money in for great rewards!

What a brilliant find on our first family trip to Canterbury. Amazing range of hand-made accessories, lots of fun and really reasonably priced. My daughter especially loved the chunky, bright smiley-face scarves and the maker happened to come in while we were in the shop so we had a good chat with her. Quirky & contemporary earrings and so much more. Wish there was a website and/or that we didn't live an hour and a half away!

The shop is simply a work of art in itself. In fact it should be exhibited. Let alone the glorious treasures it holds inside. A gem and real find in Canterbury.

A few days spent in Canterbury and came across this wonderful little shop. Two floors of real treasures to browse. The ladies there were really helpful and it was an absolute pleasure to shop there, albeit all I needed was a card (which is now on its way to a friend in Milan). If I’m ever in Canterbury again I’ll be sure to seek them out again.
