Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. You walk from room to room, listening to the different Canterbury Tales. The staff set the scene, and end the tour, but between it is self guided using automatic electronic guides. We walked through in a small group of about...More

If you're frightened off by the idea of Geoffrey Chaucer's medieval tales, don't be. This is wonderfully entertaining and brings the four selected tales bang up to date. Admission is reasonable and the mix of animatronics, video and audio narration makes it ideal for all...More

We were recommended to do this by a cousin. We were not dissppointed. We booked for the "tour" which took about 40 minutes. We stepped back in time and experienced medieval life in Chaucer's time from London to Canterbury. It was very informative and amusing...More

Took my husband and mother in law around the tales. We were expertly guided by ye olde maids. It was fun and interative. I have been around before a few years ago and my only observation is maybe some of the animated scenery could be...More

Good for a visit by any nationality. Headphone tour can be heard in any language. The stories are well covered and quite funny. You have a vision of the sites, sounds and smells of the era.

A chance to visit old england. Take it for what it is with pleasant and enthusiastic staff but sets a little basic for these days. Still an interesting way to spend some time.

Glad that we used our Tesco Vouchers, as a tad expensive in our view for the experience. You are guided around by partly audio and partly costumed personal. You stop at different parts to listen to various stories. It takes about 40 mins to walk...More

This should have been an interesting experience but I was disappointed. The props were dated and the commentary mundane. Entrance cost was expensive even with a 2 for one coupon. This is a tourist trap to be avoided. We were on a tour that included...More

We absolutely are! Please do be aware, though, that some power chairs will be too big for our little lift. We will measure the chair before you go on your tour, and if it is too big we do have an alternative wheelchair that... More
