Lovely place to walk the dog

Lovely long walk for the dog. Be aware that there is often grazing stock in the fields and if there is then your dog should be kept on the lead.

We enjoyed a delightful 4 mile walk through this part of the Great Stour Way on a bright afternoon. How nice to see a countryside river walk so well used by walkers, runners and cyclists. The river and flood plain contain plenty of wildlife, with an abundance of birds to hear and see. Would recommend to anyone keen on a... More

Its beautiful here. So peaceful. One with nature. Come here and take a lovey walk and just relax and watch all the wildlife. It has a lovely tarmac path all the way through, so no need for weeklies, unless you go off the beaten track. Lots of dog walkers here, and plenty cycling through. Would highly recommend you take a... More

A great place to visit to watch and photograh all the various wildlife that inhabit these marshes. Even in winter it i swell worth a visit to see the birds that visit here.

A beautiful place to walk along the river. So peaceful with lovely flora and fauna. We aren't on a warm afternoon and what a perfect way to spend it.

A short walk through the Westgate Gardens and beyond the children's playground is the start of a path along the Great Stour river that takes you to Hambrook Marshes and an environment that feels miles away from the crowds of the city centre. This natural wetland is a great place to stroll, jog or cycle and just enjoy the scenery... More

It's amazing to run or cycle by the river and over the boardwalk, you are so close to the city centre but you wouldn't know it. Cross the railway tracks and it links in to miles of fields and footpaths beyond.
