Excellent venue
Oct 2018 • Business
We held a team meeting here recently, the venue was excellent with great food and service. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, the owner Ed was great with communication around the arrangements and sorting different dietary requirements.

Bit out of the way
Mar 2018 • Friends
This is a wonderful gallery space with long white walls and light pouring in from the huge windows. Sadly, it is under-visited. On the plus side, you will be able to wander round the art on display with no interruptions! Displays change monthly at the moment, but will change more regularly in 2019. Great variety of art (often for sale) on show. Next door to the superb Sun Pier Tearoom. It's worth noting that this gallery is up two flights of stairs.

Surprisingly good
Aug 2017 • Family
We went here for afternoon tea, to be honest ,using vouchers. It was superb, very relaxing, excellent service, plentiful, very tasty food. We sat above the river, spending a pleasant afternoon watching swans and their antics, boats plying their way up and down the river and just watching the water. We then explored the interesting and plentiful artwork, which was all over the walls, many for sale. What a pleasant afternoon that was!

A Rarebit to remember
Jul 2017 • Couples
Popped in for a quick lunch when working nearby. Always been a Welsh Rarebit fan but so many places don't know the real recipe. This version was astonishing. The secret is mustard with the cheese and this was hot. Lovely whole meal bread. My wife had a cheese and chutney sandwich beautifully trimmed and a very generous filling. Waiter and waitress were students, gave excellent service and worked tirelessly serving, clearing and cleaning. What a contrast to the Costa Starbucks theme of "wish you weren't here disturbing our private conversation". Long may the Gransden dynasty continue.

Nice lunch
May 2017 • Friends
Popped in for the first time after my Nan reccomended it. Greeted by friendly staff, not a massive menu, but some quirky choices.
Food was very nice - we didn't have room for cake too!
Could quite easily forget you're in Chatham when looking over the river.
Will return :-)

A useful outlet for artists
Feb 2017 • Family
One of the best places for budding artists of most genres, a nice little cafe with reasonably priced drinks & snacks. Only drawback is stairs are a barrier to disabled!

Surprise Afternoon Tea
Jan 2017 • Friends
I was taken to Sun Pier House Gallery by 3 clients to celebrate one of their birthdays. Afternoon tea was excellent. Lovely home made sandwiches, scones and cake. With more than enough to go home and a doggy bag provided for the left overs. Lovely views over the River Medway with binoculars provided. A quirky place in the fact the tables are all different. Some are old school desks. Leather settees to relax and unwind. A snooker or pool table and of course the gallery which unfortunately we didn't have time to look around. Will definitely be going back.

Amazing vegan cream tea, lovely staff, stunning views... and a seal!
Nov 2016 • Friends
I booked a vegan cream tea for my aunt's birthday present. As I'm not a vegan myself, I was a bit apprehensive about what the cream would be like. But I actually preferred it to a normal cream tea!! The staff were very knowledgeable, we were served by the person who had made the food and he was very happy to share the ingredients with us. I requested a window seat and this was reserved for us. We sat on a lovely chesterfield sofa overlooking the River Medway and we even saw a seal! With views of Rochester Castle and Cathedral in the distance, this really is the best place I've been to in Chatham, a real hidden gem. Although I had booked a cream tea, I'm not really a tea drinker and the staff were really flexible with this.

Thank you Sun Pier House team for a wonderful vegan cream tea!

I hosted a business networking breakfast at Sun Pier House fr 30 guests. Staff were warm, friendy and inclusive. the food was well presented, smelled appetising and tasted good. tea / coffee / juice etc were replensished when they were used. Sun Pier House cafe is a delightful venue in Chatham centre, overlooking the River Medway. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event, well done Sun Pier House.
