It was a March day with some sunshine so we were able to sit reasonably warm. Its a good place for people watching but as usual spoilt in place by the homeless with there cans of beer. From here you can watch the ferries going into and out of the Ferry Port. There are a lot of gulls around and... More

Flat promenade, easy stroll along seafront, have a look at the clock tower at far end from the ferry end, also look out for the granite like blocks for the channel swimmers.

While there is not much to do or to see here, it is still a tourist stop. It is also the ferry point for crossing over to Calais France. Stop to snap a few pictures of the famous white cliffs, Dover Castle on the hill and the beach itself. It's a pretty place in the areas around the beach. A... More

Lovely place to walk along the prom and enjoy the views, ferries and cliffs. Plenty of parking and some nice cafes, a shopping outlet behind and a new development underway too on the seafront and behind the main road-love it!

I took the High Speed Train from St Pancras to Dover on 13 September, and cycled from Dover Priory to this beach in Dover town centre, just below Waterloo Crescent/Marine Parade. It is a beach of steep shingle, clean, with calm water. It was a very hot day and I was delightfully surprised by the warmth of the sea water.... More

Less shops and amusements so feels very close to nature. We tried skateboarding during the day as this place is quite suitable. You can enjoy a long walk, have a fun time or just sitting and watching the waves is a therapy too. Very relaxing for the soul.

Very close to the town centre, water sports centre and nearby hotels. It was quiet when I visited, nice and clean. Free motorbike parking right near the beach which is just perfect! Lovely view of the channel and the ferry port

Not too bad on a really sunny day, just to sit and watch the sea. Not really the place for a family day out, nothing to keep the kids amused and other than construction works not a lot to see.

We walked to Dover Beach from our b&b, and were pleasantly surprised. The beach itself is very nice, and the protected harbor makes for good water play and swimming. The city has created a beautiful place to walk, picnic, and spend a relaxing day. Although there are some buildings in the area in need of refurbishing to really bring the... More
