The Sailors Church. Military Rd is situated next to Jacobs ladder. A true part of the harbour community. I went to a funeral here a few years ago and found the experience moving. Well worth a visit.

Interest juxtaposition with all the modern cafes and artisan areas that have been converted near boy, I was always intrigued by the home for smack boys. It looks somber and foreboding. The church is beautiful visit before it becomes a Macdonalds or Costa I am sure that's on the way.

He is included on the memorial to S.T. Campanula.(Christine Thompson, a Norwegian, naturalised). Campanula is believed to have trawled up a mine in 1920 killing all aboard. The irony is that Christian served on the Western Front in WW1 and apart from minor wounds came through that bloodbath. I never knew him, only by research. The Sailors Church is a... More

We visited this church to view the history of this church and the connection to the Smack Boys and the home next to this church. You really need to visit the church and the home to understand the history about these two buildings from the past . The church is lovely inside and well preserved as is the home that... More

Came upon this little 19th century church on the quay by accident and we were so pleased we went in. It was founded as a church for fishermen and there was a home for fishing apprentices attached to it- lots of ship models and scenes inside. Worth a visit.

I have visited this Church a few times when strolling around Ramsgate Harbour usually in the summer months. But this last visit I attended a Christmas Carol Service. It is very interesting even if you are not a church goer, definitely worth a look as a point of historic interest.

Great sailors church, beautiful models and a little bit of history. On the corner of the harbour if you are passing it is with popping in for a few minutes to get a taste it.

We often pop in when we are near. Avery quiet and comfortable church. Please visit if you are near and maybe leave a small amount of money in the box to help support this church.

We visited Ramsgate on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend and due to some organised entertainment events being held in the harbour area, the seafront was quite busy. We travelled to Ramsgate by train and it is a fair walk (mostly downhill), from the station to seafront. There are a good number of (pay and display), car parks in the immediate... More
