Pub with no bar

Lovely quirky pub serving fantastic real ale (straight out of the barrel), you sit down, order what you want and it's brought to you. Limited food.

This is a cosy Micropub on York Street just 100 yards from Ramsgate Harbour. Once inside,The Hovelling Boat is comfortable, clean and compact, like a little cafe. There is a choice of four or six really nice real ales (local ones I believe) which will be brought to your table. I think they do some light snacks too. Very pleasant.

Just a great place to visit - The service is great, the cheese rolls are pretty good, a nice bite to go with my Ale. A good choice of real ales.

On recommendation, I popped in on a Saturday lunchtime for a swift pint. I found it a welcoming and friendly pub serving well kept real ale.

In the centre of town, dog-friendly, great home made pies and pickle, fantastic cheese board and good service. In the summer one can sit outside in the traffic free square, in winter indoors is traditional and cosy.

I am reliably informed that this pub shut down before the First World War, and only re-opened again over a century later. It is what is now known as a micro-pub, selling local beers and ciders - and VERY good they are too. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff, real ale, traditional cider, guest ales, fresh made ploughman's or sandwiches and pickled eggs. Enough said!

As usual cosy atmosphere friendly welcome and great selection of ales and ciders. A small venue with a very big heart. Locals and visitors to Thanet all welcome.
