Finally got the the Hull Truck Theatre last Friday night, went to see the Hypocrite. Mark Addy, Caroline Quentine and Adrian Hood among the cast. Although the entrance was busy, we still managed to get the best seats in the house. As the show had sold out, extra seats had been added in the form of church pews at the... More

Outstanding production of The Hypocrite, a farce with excellent timing, good acting and lots of laughs. Very good entertainment.

In the style of One Man, Two Governors, Mark Addy gives a fantastic performance in this new show. Some of the gags may be lost on people not familiar with Hull, but there are still plenty left to savour. The run is sold out, but moves to Stratford. A great evenings entertainment.

Lovely theatre which we will most definitely return to, but will certainly be a John Godber production next time.

What a great show and production! I took a group of children from our school aged 11-13 and they loved it; there was a bit of slapstick like all pantomime's should but was a well told story that kept my group entranced for two hours so well recommended!

John Godber's latest play was as disappointing as his "Poles apart". I have been an admirer of Godber's work and talent in the past, however these two are not up to his usual comedy class. Both plays lacked sufficient humour to be defined as "entertainment" but felt more like a depressing review of the NHS which the audience are familiar... More

Another visit to the theatre. I love this venue always easy to book your tickets and always plenty of parking. (£1 after 6 pm) An evening watching a John Godber play. The place was busy and buzzing as always. The bar area has enough seating for those wanting to relax and chat before going into the play. The tiered seating is... More
