No visit to Grasmere is complete without a book bought from Sam Reads. This is a traditional bookshop and has a lovely atmosphere coupled with very helpful staff and wonderful selection of books echoing the locality, landscape, season and outdoors.

Sam Read's is an amazing little bookshop tucked away in Grasmere. The selection of books is absolutely brilliant, and the staff are just so friendly. I will certainly be making a beeline for the shop next time I'm in Grasmere!

To be honest, we ran in here as the heavens opened. I'm sure we won't have been the first, but what a great place to find ourselves! Ended up buying a book I have been waiting for.

Absolutely love it here. There is an amazing selection of fabulously chosen books. The owners are very welcoming. Browsing here is a delight and would move here just to visit the bookshop-it's a dreamworld.
