We had a great time on Coniston Water - peaceful, beautiful and safe. We hired a boat, and didn't feel the least envy for the people in the steamer as we explored the corners of the lake, I'd love to be there again!

Preferred hiring our own little boat and drifting around lake ourselves. Take a picnic and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. Wonderful scenery. Plenty of eating places around Coniston and then town is worth a visit as well.

I am sure there must be a park in Coniston itself but not sure where. It is a village with permanent residents and has its own school.

We went last year in June to the Lake district and around Coniston. We had a coffee at the Bluebird Cafe and there is a small pier there where small boats can moor. There are picnic tables around as well. It overlooks the... More
