We visited here with our 18 month old son. It's a small but informative museum with bits for smaller children to keep them entertained. There's also lots of interesting information for adults too. They change their displays annually so it is always worth a visit!

Plenty to see here with info about Potter's life. Lots of original artefacts, sketches and other insights into her life.

The National Trust ticket office is actually on the other side of the road and at busy times you may have to wait for entry to the house. 2016 was of course the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter's birth and the gallery had a number of drawings and sketches of her famous characters. The gallery also had its own gift shop... Had to be done as we were in the area visiting Hill Top. Worth a visit if Beatrix Potter is of interest as you can see many of the original drawings she used to bring her books to life.

This place was very interesting. The exhibition that was showing in October was to celebrate the 150th anniversary of her birth. It contained extracts from the original drafts of the books, some of her paintings and a video about her life.

Small but interesting venue. Nice exhibits of illustrations in Beatrix Potters books alongside how they appeared then and at present.

We visited Hilltop first and I'm glad we did it that way. The gallery is in her husbands old solicitors office in the village and although does not have as much on display as I expected but it's not all about quantity. It's difficult to walk around due to low ceilings and narrow stairs but worth a quick visit. More... More

It was a little bit hard to find at first, as you have to go to the shop across the road to get your tickets for entry. Very small building with low ceilings and door ways - watch your head. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures. Growing up my mum had a book of Beatrix Potter's sketches and paintings so... More

Ok, but not much there. A few drawings and a few paintings. Compared to the hilltop (Beatrix potters house) they were the same price but so much more to see at the hill top.

You have to book a ticket at the shop nearby and wait for a timed entry we waited over an hour and a half, tea shops nearby. But once in they warn re photographs / copyright etc. It is a small place and very tall people will bang their heads if not carefully, a lot packed into the galley worth... More
