Hill Top was Beatrix Potter's most beloved place, packed full of her favourite things and left just as she wanted it for visitors to enjoy. You will see why she loved it so much and used it and the surrounding countryside as inspiration for many of her famous children's tales.

We visited on a showery weekend. The village is very quaint. A small car park so you might need to queue. We decided not to go around the house but look around the garden. Not much to see at this time of year so I would suggest the summer months when the flowers are in full bloom. National trust guides... More

Is a nice trip however we went In February so the garden was nothing to see just muddy veg patches can't complain as can't expect anything different that time of year. It is an interesting little visit and the history behind it. However not sure it's worth the £11.50 per adult

How fantastic to sample such a great woman's life. The house has so much to see, with advisors telling little stories of Beatrix potters life. Would totally recommend!

It is lovely to visit the house that Beatrix Potter spent time in and to look at the china printed with her art work, and the small cards placed around with Beatrix's quotes & comments in the cottage. Although I know it's important to keep the cottage exactly how it would have been, I think the experience of visiting the... More

She probably never stepped foot in that house. I'm not having that she had the technological know how or the economic savvy to own and operate what can only be described as the Lake Districts largest collection of walkie-talkies. Good to see that people in the dark ages still had one eye on health and safety and that she had... More

While you are in the Lake District, you should take the time to visit Beatrix Potter's House and farm. It is an enjoyable visit and it visited by hundreds of people every day.

Shame that knowing how busy the Lakes are at Christmas and New Year it wasn't open! More than us turned up with young children, got parked up, got out and then found out it was closed while a bit of DIY was being done. Who thought that was a good idea?!! Well done (NOT) National Trust!

a joyful experience with or without children. The treasure trail is great fun and good value indeed. The shop has some very pretty Beatrix Potter items, and the people are very friendly.

We took the kids there while on summer holliday. Its a series of stories sets using figurines some of which were animated. There is a small garden too. If you are a big fan of peter rabbit, this would be a fantastic place to visit, otherwise its ok but pricey.
