Beautiful Stained Glass
Sep 2021
It will make your visit more interesting if you pick up one of the leaflets which will guide you round the church. It is the oldest building in Kendal and part of it dates from the 13th century and various additions have been made to it since. There are a few small chapels which are memorials to various people. The stained glass windows are beautiful and what talented people worked on them. There is a large organ and a 15th century font. It is a stunning building looking at it from the outside as well.

Beautiful church, inside and out
Aug 2021 • Couples
We were quite taken aback by the width of this gorgeous church, the widest in the UK, the stone carvings, the Gothic arches and the stained-glass windows. Definitely worth a visit when visiting Kendal.

The widest Church in England...
Jul 2021
Seen from the river, the church is enormous and definitely lives up to its description of the largest church in England!

It is equally impressive inside with central nave and two side ailses on either side. The outer north aisle is as large as the average church...

There is plenty to see and admire - the modern sculpture of 'the family of man' in the outer south aisle and the wonderful modern corona in the North outer aisle. There is the table tomb of Sir Thomas Parr, grandfather of Katherine Parr, the tomb and brass of Sir Roger and Lady Bellingham of Levens Hall and the tomb of nine year old Walter Strictland with his effigy under it... Don't forget to look up for the painted angels in the roof.

Impressive church from the outside
Jul 2019 • Family
I visited this church with my 8 year old grandson straight after wandering around the ruins of Kendal Castle, keen to see the tomb of William Parr about which we had read there. Unfortunately there was a funeral in progress so we were unable to go inside to see this and the other attractions within. Still it looks impressive from the outside, so maybe we'll have to return on another occasion to complete our visit.

This church is cool! We only moved into Kendal in August and didn't ever go to church before then. It's only since my beautiful fiancee died that we started going regular as I was grieving so much and still am. We picked this church cus it was the closest one to us, we have seen a few in Kendal and stayed for some services but the kids like this one best out of them all so we have decided to leave the other church and come here. It is huge and very nice they have lots of cool stained glass windows that they don't have at other churches and the best bit of it is they have a nice chapel at the end, as we call it the Jesus corner as it's the part with a beautiful cRoss of him and that's where we feel closest to him. Also this church has a cool vicar he uses words you can understand when he talks not like normal vicar with their 'thou'words so it's easier to understand and the church wardens are cool. They have someone on the mentor team that we're very close too and she's ace. I think that even if your not religious you should come see it cus it kinda opens your eyes and let's you know there's more than just what we see. It's worth looking at ♡♡
